SUPERMARINE SPITFIRE
RUDDER PEDAL CUFFLINKS
To compliment our sculptures, cast using metal from Spitfire Mk I X4276 KL-B, we have now produced two variants of cufflink, also cast of metal from X4276. We like to do things differently and rather than produce cufflinks depicting the obvious Spitfire shape, have elected to base the design of our links on the attractive Supermarine rudder pedals with which Battle of Britain vintage Mk I and Mk II Spitfires were equipped. Both variants of the links incorporate 'donor' metal from the Rolls-Royce Merlin III engine fitted to Spitfire Mk I, X4276 KL-B, Al Deere's personal Spitfire, which crashed on 28th December 1940 following a mid-air collision.
Firstly we offer cufflinks which have the pedals cast in bronze from X4276 but with arms of hallmarked sterling silver.
Secondly cufflinks which are made entirely of aluminium, the 'donor' metal again from the Merlin engine.
